Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition

　　According to People’s Network, the thirteenth Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition (referred to as: Chengdu Motor Show) will be held from September 18th to 24th at the Chengdu New International Convention and Exhibition Center. The show will last for one week and the theme is “green technology • enjoying driving pleasures in Chengdu”.

　　After more than 10 years’ development, Chengdu Motor Show has been received wide support from different sectors of automobile companies and the press and is entitled one of the four most influential automobile shows in China. On the base of the great performance of last year, this year the scale will get even larger. The2010 Chengdu Motor Show will use all nine exhibition halls of the Chengdu New International Convention and Exhibition Centre, a total 120,000 square meters, of which passenger cars will account 7 halls from last year’s 6, a record number.

　　China western market quietly heating up

　　Data show that in 2009, with more than 13.6 million automobile production and sales, China became the world’s fastest growing automobile market and the most important emerging market as well as the key growth for the multinational auto giants. In a long coming period, China will still firmly occupy the position of the world’s largest automobile production and marketing superpower.

　　Meanwhile, the geographical pattern of the domestic car consumption also has been changing. In 2009 a series of preferential policies promulgated by the central government drove the strong spending power in China auto market and made the western region a new driving engine of domestic car consumption. With “the third highest car ownership in China and as the largest automobile consumer city in the West, Chengdu will definitely become a “battleground” of automakers.

　　Besides consumers and car enthusiasts in Chengdu, the organizing committee will strive to attract the visitors from the cities around. The number of visitors is expected to reach a record high.

　　International and demotic brands competing fiercely

　　This year, the domestic and foreign car manufacturers all have great enthusiasm to participate in the Chengdu auto show and will bring their latest models. Some exhibitors will add investment on the basis of the previous years to unfold the latest level of the world automobile industry.

　　Meanwhile, the green new energy vehicles, concept cars will also be beautifully unveiled, to demonstrate the new trends of the future auto industry to the consumers and media in the west. “Auto Supplies Exhibition” and “Used-car Zone” will also show a new look.

　　The fifth and sixth halls will welcome the international high-end cars such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, Volvo, Cadillac, etc., among them, the exhibition hall of Mercedes-Benz , BMW, Audi and Volkswagen imported cars are all over 1000 square meters. The seventh hall is for luxury car brands such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati. In addition, there are the world’s top brands such as Land Rover, Jaguar, Harley, Mitsuoka and touring cars of Benz and Ford. Besides, Volkswagen, General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Citroen and other Western and Japanese auto giant will continues to carry all their models to Chengdu, which will definitely set off a impressive sight.

　　With the rapid rise of China domestic auto industry, domestic independent brands will also have wonderful performance. Chery, BYD and Geely will all occupy an important position in the exhibition hall. The BYD will own a total display area of 2400 square meters, which is particularly eye-catching. Meanwhile, as China auto industry leading power, the FAW Group, Shanghai Automotive, Dongfeng Motor, Chang’an Automobile and many other mainstream brands will bring their new models to be launched new energy cars developed independently to compete with overseas automakers and show a strong impetus of China auto industry.

　　In addition, the launching ceremony of all the latest models, Land Rover test ride experience and a series of new activities the public can participate in will create a more vivid and exciting show.

　　First Global Automotive Forum to be held simultaneously

　　simultaneously, the first Global Automotive Forum launched by China CCPIT Automotive Industry Committee will be held from Sept. 16th to 17th at InterContinental Century City Chengdu. Then, more than 500 of automotive OEMs, parts manufacturers, government officials, financial institutions, top executives and experts from the global auto and related industries will gather in to discuss important issues within the industry, making the forum a remarkable affair in the year of 2010.

　　Based on the previous experiences, this time, Chengdu Motor Show have made a new adjustment in software and hardware to provide professional service of highest-level for the visitors and exhibitors. Among them, the new stadium will solve parking problems, advanced RFID access control system and a new ticketing, security, landing zone are integrated to provide convenient service and security for visitors.

　　The thirteenth Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition is organized by the People’s Government of Chengdu together with Chengdu New International Convention & Exhibition Center Co., Ltd. and Hannover Milan Exhibition (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. It is reported that Sept. 17 is media day and 18th to 19th are for the professional visitors and 24th is for the public.
