Hyundai is all set to launch the brand-new Accent RC at the upcoming auto show in Beijing. One of the three biggest automobile events in China opens its doors on 23rd of April and is expected to showcase a large number of new production and concept cars from worlds biggest automakers.
As already mentioned, Hyundai will celebrate the official world premiere of its sub-compact Accent. The long-awaited next-generation Hyundai Accent will undergo a major redesign for the 2011 model year. As seen on some spy shots previously, the basic shape will feature Hyundai’s latest design DNA and will look a baby Sonata sedan.
The 2012 Accent will feature four-door coupe styling, sweptback headlights, a swoopy grille, and rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. While details are still limited, engine options will likely include a 1.6L and 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engines with direct injection technology.
In addition, Hyundai will also unveil the all-new Sonata sedan in Beijing. The 2011 Sonata sedan is scheduled to go on sale in China early next year, according to Beijing Hyundai. Chinese version of new Sonata is not expected to incorporate any styling makeovers and will look same as the U.S. market Sonata.
Information on engine options are yet to be released, but we are expecting to see the same powertrain options available as in the U.S. market Sonata. The 2.4L GDI will be available as an entry level engine, while 2.0L turbo engine will be available optionally.
