The following is an interactive discussion session; guests will begin discussion under the theme of China National Strategy and Tactics for Electric Vehicle Industry Development!
He Yi: Last year I specially asked BMW design director about this issue at one auto show. He clearly expressed his preference for the fuel cars. I remember his view was that it would take at least 50 years for the electric vehicle to completely replace fuel cars. However when we turn to look at the Chinese electric car industry, the development of electric cars has began already. Government and enterprises as well as theorists and engineers, more resources and efforts are devoting in the development of electric cars. In this regard, I agree with Mr. Chen’s point of view. The train of electric car has started; the only question is that whether you can catch it this time. I think we should do more rather than just talking about it.
Moderator: Now, every one of you, please speak out of your view of future development of China’s electric cars with one sentence.
Wang Chuanfu: China has already become the world’s largest fuel vehicles market, and I believe China will become the world’s biggest electric car market too.
Chen Qingquan: I think China electric cars are developing fastest worldwide, although not with the best quality.
Guan Xin: I hope that these experts in car, motor and the battery areas can work together to support and promote the development of electric cars. The future of electric cars will be promising.
Xu Xiangyang: the promotion of electric vehicles is a systemic task; we must hold this kind of opinion all the time.
Moderator: Thank your wonderful discussion about the problem of electric cars, and also I will give thanks to Mr. He Yi. This seminar is very exciting, if the forum today is filled with one-sided view, it cannot be called forum anymore, only in this way the future of Chinese cars will be better.(Translator: Yalong/Jessie)
