  About Objective – Further Consolidate Audi’s Position in China

  Sohu Auto: Some media have recently reported Audi will set up an independent sales company, which will be formally registered in August. However, Audi has denied the report. In your opinion, if Audi sets up an independent sales unit in future, at what time and under what condition will Audi do this?

  Boesch: I am sorry, but I am really very hard to comment on market rumors. However, we can see FAW-VW Audi has attained very successful and amazing growth and development in the past 25 years. When looking into the future, we have established very clear strategies, such as the “Leader” strategy. By implementing this strategy, we are expecting to further drive the growth of the Audi brand in China.

  This strategy mainly includes further expanding the product portfolio and the dealer network, and further enhancing the service and care for customers, so this strategy stresses a growth of high quality. Our “Leader” strategy is very important to Audi’s future development in China. At the same time, we believe this strategy is very important to our future success, considering the future prospect and potential of the Chinese market.

  Sohu Auto: What’s the dealer development target for this year?

  Boesch: We aim to gain about 50 new dealers this year. Now, we have 309 dealers in 143 cities. As to the dealer network expansion, we will place a top emphasis on the level and standard of services dealers deliver to customers, when we enter a new city or a new dealer joins us.

  Sohu Auto: You worked in Japan before coming to China. In the two years after you came, you have increased FAW-VW Audi’s sales figure from 220,000 vehicles to 400,000 vehicles. The sales data show you have well adapted to the Chinese market. Then, what objective have you set for your term? What stage do you hope to take Audi to?

  Boesch: Actually, it is not a certain person that has made Audi succeed, and behind the brand development and sales growth are the efforts of many people. These people include many employees of FAW-VW Audi, both shareholders and many dealers.

  My mission in my term is to further consolidate its leading position of the Audi brand in the Chinese market based on the achievements it has made in the past. That is to say, I hope to ensure Audi will realize a sustainable development of high quality in China. This includes many aspects like customer satisfaction and fulfillment of our sales objective of 2 million vehicles ahead of time.

  Personally, I hope to play a supporting and assisting role in FAW-VW Audi’s implementation of the “Leader” strategy, and attain our sales objective of 2 million vehicles at an early date. At the same time, I hope to further reinforce and consolidate the Audi brand in the Chinese market.
