November 6th 2009, Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China issued in No. 83 and No. 84 Bulletin that a anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation will be launched on the imported cars and sport utility vehicles produced originally in the USA with a displacement of 2.0 liters or more.
An official of Import and Export Fair Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce said that the domestic auto industry made a request in an application submitted recently to launch an anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation on those cars referred above.
In accordance with Anti-dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China and Anti-Subsidy Regulations of the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce reviewed the application carefully and concluded that the application was in line with the statutory conditions. It finally decided to place it on the file to investigate from November 6th 2009.
Citing an undisclosed source from the Ministry of Commerce, in the process of investigation, the trade remedies investigation authorities of China have always been strictly abide with laws of China and WTO rules and respect for the rights of various stakeholders. In addition, they would insist on fair and reasonable procedural due process and the principle of transparency all the time and make a fair and reasonable conclusion according to laws and the facts as well as to maintain fair trade order.(Translator: Yalong/ Jessie)
