Geely to recruit talents for buying Volvo

Geely Automobile began to veil itself and get increasingly far away from the outside world, which indicates that a new progress will emerge, according to the Beijing Youth Daily. It is reported recently that the Chairman of Huatai Automobile Co. Tong Zhiyuan has joined Geely Auto. However, Geely has not offered a definite answer when asked about the matter. Head of Geely’s press center expressed that even they could hardly see the decision-makers of the company.

However, this information is impliedly confirmed by some insiders. The insider told the Beijing Youth Daily that at present the detailed information was still in the hand of the company executives. Only a few people are aware of some simple situations. Everything is not for sure as long as the negotiations haven’t reached the end. Under such circumstance, no one is daring to say something. As a matter of fact, Geely Auto has long been getting preparations to take over Volvo. After the President of Fiat Powertrain Technology (China) Shen Hui joined Geely, Tong Zhiyuan is another talent who will become a member of Geely.

Both Shen Hui and Tong Zhiyuan have the same characteristics, professions with international perspective, and that is what attracts Li Shufu most. It is learned that Tong Zhiyuan will be responsible for domestic production and sales of Volvo cars in the future. Once the Geely’s acquisition of Volvo becomes successful, the automobile industry will embrace a chain reaction. First of all, Volvo will dissociate itself from Changan Auto.
