VP of High Team to Serve as Geely’s

　　It is reported that the former Vice President of High Team Public Relations Consultants Co., Ltd and the General Manager of Shanghai High Team Yang Xueliang will replace former Vice President of Geely Automobile Wang Ziliang as the new spokesman of Geely. Yang will become Geely’s Director of Public Relations. Such frequent personnel changes make Geely become the focus of the media once again under the critical circumstance for acquisition of Volvo. Yang Xueliang is the third top newcomer for Geely in the last month.

　　In order to establish a new international management team to ensure the smooth operation of Volvo project. Geely has long been hunting for core supervisors for the team. The former President of Huatai Automobile Tong Zhiyuan was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Volvo project on December 15 2009. Tong Zhiyuan was responsible for many overseas cars’ introduction into China and their localization work, such as Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mitsubishi Outlander and Pajero, Mercedes-Benz E-class and C-level luxury cars. What’s more, he was positioned as former senior Executive Vice President of Beijing Benz and Beijing Automotive Holdings Deputy Chief Engineer.

　　As early as December 11 Fiat China confirmed that Shen Hui, former CEO of Fiat Powertrain Technologies China had accepted the invitation as Geely’s Vice President. Shen Hui began to serve in the world top 500 companies in the U.S. and China and he took charge of senior management in 1994 after finishing study abroad. Before working as President of Fiat Powertrain China in last January, Shen Hui was responsible for the international auto components giant Borg Warner’s business in China. Shen Hui will transmit his focus to the DSI-an Australian transmission company acquired by Geely and other overseas project after the successful completion of the acquisition of Volvo.

　　Yang Xueliang’s joining in Geely will further shape new management team. In Beijing Trade and Industry Bureau two companies related to Geely are to be checked. One of them will be responsible for investment on Volvo project, while the other will be the core of Volvo’s operating in China. Geely Automobile has made agreement on all of the key commercial terms of acquisition of Volvo with Ford in accordance with Geely’s announcement which was claimed in December 23, 2009. Geely is expected to sign the share purchase agreement with Ford in the first quarter of 2010. The transaction will be accomplished in the second quarter after getting approval by relevant supervising organization.

　　Yang Xueliang graduated from the University of International Relations and obtained a bachelor’s degree. After graduating in 1997 he joined the Department of Academic Training of China International Public Relations Association. He joined in the well-known public relations company Weber Shandwick as customer director in 2000. Yang then studied in China-EU School of Business Administration. Currently he is the visiting associating professor of Shanghai Normal University. He joined in High Team in 2001 as Vice President and General Manager of Shanghai High Team, which had only six employees in the early 2002. Now High Team has 45 employees with the revenue of 31 million in 2007. Its main customers include Land Rover, Jaguar, and Shanghai Volkswagen, Ferrari, Maserati, Epson and other famous brands.
