Toyota: fully develop varied types of new

　　June 1, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as well as National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued announcements of Consumer New Energy Vehicle Subsidy Pilot and Implementation Details of Fuel Efficient Vehicle Promotion Project, which rules per plug-in hybrid vehicle can get a maximum subsidy of 50,000 Yuan and the highest subsidy per pure electric passenger vehicle can win is 60,000 Yuan while per energy efficient car will be given 3,000 Yuan as a one-time fixed subsidy.

　　That different types of new energy vehicles subsidized variedly is seen as a signal that the government has been considered electric vehicles the key of the development of new energy vehicles.

　　How will those car companies already taken some actions in the field of new energy vehicles respond to such policy tendency? SOHU had an interview with Toyota China and got the official response as follows.

　　SOHU: Due to the different amounts of subsidies, insiders pointed out that it has demonstrated that the Chinese government has tended to electric vehicles. What do you think of this view?

　　Toyota China: the subsidy policy of the private purchase of new energy cars issued by the state in June 1st played a beneficial role in the promotion of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

　　Toyota believes that new energy sources are not single, but diverse, such as electricity, gas, synthetic liquid fuels and bio fuels are all new energy. Among them, the electric power is a very effective way considering the energy security and CO2 emissions. Toyota is to striving to overcome technical difficulties to provide customers with more convenience.

　　In addition to hybrids, Toyota is actively promoting a variety of preparations in order to introduce plug-in hybrid models into China experimentally as early as possible.

　　SOHU: will you expand the layout of electric vehicles in China in accordance with this change?

　　Toyota China: Toyota believes electricity is a promising kind of new energy in the future and has always been committed the development of new energy vehicles including electric cars.

　　Toyota will flexibly launch new cars according to different energy situation and market demand in each country.

　　In the future, including electric cars, Toyota will more actively introduce more new energy vehicles into the Chinese market, , to provide consumers with more choices.

　　SOHU: which type of new energy technology do you think more realistic in China currently?

　　Toyota China: we believes that new energy sources are not single, but diverse, such as electricity, gas, synthetic liquid fuels and bio fuels are all new energy. Among them, the electric power is a very effective way considering the energy security and CO2 emissions. Toyota is to striving to overcome technical difficulties to provide customers with more convenience.

　　SOHU: to develop new energy technologies, do you think it is better to have a particular focus, or to promote multiple technologies at the same time?

　　Toyota China: currently, the whole world is actively addressing the issue of oil consumption and carbon dioxide emissions reduction as well as other energy and environmental problems.

　　All powers such as electricity, natural gas, synthetic liquid fuels and bio-fuels can replace fuel oil. We believe that no matter what kind of new energy technologies, as long as they can help to reduce oil consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, they are valuable. Therefore, we have been engaged in the R& D of all types of new energy vehicles.

　　We believe hybrid and plug-in hybrid have significant effects and great value in oil consumption reduction and carbon dioxide emissions. In energy utilization, electric cars and fuel cell vehicles do not use gasoline, and have no emissions of harmful gases. Not only hybrids, actually Toyota will roundly develop new energy vehicles and energy saving, environmental models and related technologies. Till now, we have accumulated rich experience during the development of Hybrid vehicles that they own the same power, motor control technology as plug-in hybrids.

　　SOHU: in your opinion, how long will the popularity of electric cars still take? Please give some reasons.

　　Toyota China: currently, the whole world is actively addressing the issue of oil consumption and carbon dioxide emissions reduction as well as other energy and environmental problems. We believe that electric car technology is a promising kind of new energy in the future

　　Although there are still problems during the promotion of electric vehicles at the present stage, Toyota is to striving to overcome technical difficulties to provide customers with more convenience.
