FAW-VW Audi Sales Division announced that from September 1stthis year, the current Managing Director of Audi Japanese Corporation Mr. Dominique Boesch will succeed Mr. Johannes Thammer as general manager, together with executive vice president Zhang Xiaojun to handle the marketing of the Audi brand domestic cars and imported cars in China. Former general manager of FAW-VW Audi Sales Division Mr. Johannes Thammer will return to Germany to be head of Volkswagen sales Division.
44 years old Mr. Dominique Boesch has extensive marketing and management experience and previously had been Managing Director of Audi Japanese Corporation for three years. In 1991, as an intern, he started his career in Volkswagen Group. From 1993 to 1998, he served as sales manager the Audi companies in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Turkey. Then he was assigned to France to manage the sales in Paris region. In 2003, he was appointed as the head of Pacific and Asia region in Singapore. A year later, he became general manager of Audi Korea.
Mr. Johannes Thammer has been the General Manager of FAW-VW Audi Sales Division since June 2008.
During these two years in office, he led the team for continuous innovation in brand building, marketing and sales, maintaining the strong growth of the Audi brand in China. In just over a year, Audi sales in China increased from 100,000 to 150,000 units. From January to July, Audi sold a total 128,941 new cars to customers, increased 62.4% over last year, a new sales record. The Chinese market surpassed the home market in Germany to become Audi’s largest global market for the first time.
