Frontal trade war may impact Chrysler most

This Monday, the Chinese Commerce Ministry declared to begin the anti-dumping and anti-subsidies investigations into some automobile and chicken products originally produced in the United States. This move could be seen as the moderately reasonable reaction of "treachery" move of the United States, and also open the China's first ever frontal trade war aiming the automotive products against the United States.

Citing an undisclosed source from Information Times, the investigation of automobile products are referring to the whole cars, and may proceed from the anti-subside direction. Because the financial aid are already made the unfair trade competition, which are tens of billions of dollars given into the American's auto industry by the financial institutions in the United States.

Including the top three U.S. Auto makers, import car dealers and other the interest-related corporations are still waiting for the further development of this incident in order to make the quickest response. Because of the repeating alternate problems of the domestic partners, Chrysler relys its main selling way on sales of imported vehicles. So this anti-dumping and anti-subsidies investigation case will probably effect Chrysler most.

Tuesday, Information Times has contacted Chrysler Chinese Corporation about the above matter, the response is that it's temporary inconvenience to reveal any informations, basing on that the Commerce Ministry hasn't yet entered a specific investigation.

According to inconplete statistics, Chrysler imports to China the most amount of whole vehicles among the top three U.S. Auto makers, which is over 20000 each year. The annual exported auto amount from American to China is more or less 42000. The number of imported vehicles from American is 25000 from January to July this year.

In the first quarter of this year, Chrysler's sales in China grew by 17%, mainly through Dodge JCUV, Wrangler, Jeep and other SUV models by importing channel. Currently, Chrysler sales total nine models of autos in China.

Survey shows, the prices of some imported cars and SUVs, including Dodge Avenger, Dodge Calibert, Ford Maverick have been entered the price range of 200.000 Yuan. Some dealers even offer the price less than 200.000 Yuan, which is already lower than the price of the same level of the domestically produced cars.
