New cars mark with fuel consumption

    According to the latest news reported by SOHU AUTO, by December 31, Ministry of industry and information technology has published the fuel consumption of 5923 the models.

    In accordance with the light vehicle fuel consumption labeling regulations promulgated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from January 1, 2010, passenger cars lighter than 3.5 tonnes and light commercial vehicles sold in China should be marked with car fuel consumption. Automakers and imported car dealers need to submit the fuel consumption mark samples of different auto models to the of model the different fuel to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, who will regularly release these data.

　　Equipment Industry Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced to establish a system of keeping the fuel consumption of light vehicles published and asked for some suggestions at a meeting held in December 22. Manufacturers such as FAW, Beijing Automotive, Volkswagen, General Motors, Nissan as well as China Automotive Industry Association, China Automotive Technology and Research Center and European Automobile Manufacturers Association was presented at the meeting.

　　By December 22, the fuel consumption logos of more than 60 enterprises’ nearly 4,000 models have been recorded as required. From January 1, 2010, the ministry of Industry and Information Technology will launch a section named notifications of fuel consumption marks of light vehicles at its website to publicly announce and regularly updated the data on automobile fuel consumption indicator submitted by manufacturers so as to provide a platform for the whole society to obtain, query and retrieve information about fuel consumption of varied vehicles.
