Through the ongoing communication, the forum can provide the most valuable recommendations for managers, and offer advice and theoretical guidance for China's industry from a strategic point of view. Therefore the forum will enhance the comprehensive development of China's automotive industry, propelling China to become a real giant in terms of production and sales of vehicles. In the section of interactive discussion, guests discussed about the national strategy and static for the development of China's electric vehicle industry.
Guan Xin offered his comments on the development of electric vehicle industry.
He Yi: Nowadays a mobile phone user may bring a few batteries with him. Battery is also a determinant factor for the development of electric vehicles. So what do you think about this issue?
Guan Xin: I would like to express my points of view. There is no doubt that battery is a key issue when we discuss about the development of electric vehicles. Personally speaking, I believe that Chinese government has already attached great importance to the development of batteries. The central government has set the development of batteries as a strategic objective and injected a great sum of funds. In addition, electric vehicle industry has already become a hot spot for investment.
We all know that for the development of an industry, there are a number of important factors including consumers' needs and government's investment. Moreover, technology is also an integral part for the development of electric vehicle industry. The technological breakthrough can promote the development of electric vehicle industry. I recently got some notions that the sales of China's electric vehicles were not satisfactory in other countries. I believe that we have to tackle some problems.
I would like to emphasize that technology plays a fundamental role in the development of electric vehicles. Batteries and motors are of great importance. We should change the innovation system of automotive industry. Without a creative structure, electric vehicles can hardly compete against traditional cars.
Compared with traditional cars, Chinese government attaches more importance to electric vehicles. However, automobile manufacturers mainly made investment in human resources and other aspects rather than technologies. I believe for China's electric vehicle industry, it is more important to introduce an innovative framework.
Till now traditional cars have already passed through a century-long process. Though the technical route of electric vehicles is an important task, we should also take the development frame into serious consideration. Both research institutions and automakers should discuss about this issue. (Translator: Qinghua/Hanxin)
