FAW-Volkswagen new project reached 130m

　　FAW-Volkswagen South China Sea Project to be started before the end of 2010 is being the first information bulletin of the Environmental impact assessment currently. According to the information bulletin, the total investment of FAW-Volkswagen South China Sea Project will reach 13.55 billion yuan, and investment in environmental protection will reach more than 130 million yuan. It is reported that FAW-Volkswagen South China plant would be formed by sectors such as production sector, warehousing sector, public power sector and assisted living sector.

　　Environmental impact assessment shows that FAW-Volkswagen South China Sea plant will be designed in accordance with high starting point, high-volume and specialized requirements so that it can be FAW-Volkswagen’s car manufacturing base in the southeast region, which will be a plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 series cars.

　　On one hand, environmental impact assessment indicates construction of FAW-Volkswagen South China Sea project can meet consumers’ rapid growth demand for the high level of passenger cars in Southeast, and is consistent with scientific layout of building factories in North and South China for FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. On the other hand, it will accelerate development of auto industry in Guangdong province and of downstream industries so as to play an important role in enhancing the level of China's passenger car industry.
