According to a Chinese website Sichuan on line some insiders evaluate that the size of this year’s auto show in Guangzhou is larger than that of the Tokyo Auto Show, which is a great success hard for a local auto show to achieve. Right in the media day, that was November 23rd, in the exhibition area of 15,000 square meters, nearly 50 press conferences were held. As to the new models firstly released, which is main factor to measure the influence of an auto show, the there have been a total of more than 70 models firstly exhibited in China, in Asia and even in the whole world.

  Dongfeng Nissan: leading the green trend

Although Dongfeng Nissan has no new models to release at Guangzhou Auto Show, its vice general manager Ren Yong has announced Nissan will fully launch the “Green City Program”, which still gets a lot attention of medias.

It is reported that the core of the “Green City Program” introduced by Dongfeng Nissan is electric vehicle which holds a leading position in the whole world. The program will promote intelligent transportation systems through deeply co-operating with various Provencal Governments and will actively join in improving the ecological environment of communities.

Right at the press conference, Ren Yong has also explained the “Green City Program” at length. He has said that after the introduction of electric vehicles in 2011, Dongfeng Nissan will also work jointly with governments to build other infrastructures such as fast charging stations, charging equipment and even dedicated lanes for electric vehicles, all of which will greatly speed up the popularity of the electric vehicles in Chinese market. Moreover, Dongfeng Nissan will be more active in the promotion of smart navigation system so called “Star-wing”. It is understood that the “Star-wing” can timely provide the traffic condition for vehicles owners so as to alleviate the traffic jams, reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Now the new Teana equipped with a navigation system can use “Star-wing” system in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

In fact, the core of the “Green City Program” of Dongfeng-Nissan is an electric vehicle project. Therefore, the program can be taken as the first specific strategy to promote electric vehicles in the market domestic. Actually, the reason why Dongfeng Nissan is so active in introducing electric vehicles on one hand, is due to their corporate responsibility, on the other hand it also reflects Dongfeng Nissan has shifted from chasing sales volume to leading the trend. This change and the courage to guide the trend of auto market is a true sign to prove Dongfeng Nissan has entered into the first-line of the Chinese auto market.
