2010 Sohu Auto Award is unveiled

　　2010 Sohu Auto Award is held in Beijing Kerry Centre on January 11, 2011. Volkswagen’s Golf 6 wins the championship of Satisfaction Awards and Dongfeng Honda is awarded by the Public Image Award. The Award of first choice new automobile, which has gained most attention, is taken by Beijing Benz E-Class LWB (Long-Wheelbase). Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of Sohu.Com Inc Ms. Wang Xin give an opening speech. Over hundreds honor guests, including industry experts, executives of automobile manufacturers and dozens of editor-in-chiefs, gather around to attend this event, and witness the birth of a series of glories of Chinese automotive industry in 2010.

　　2010 Sohu Auto Award includes three categories, including “First Choice New Auto Award”, “Auto Model Satisfaction Award” and “Best Public Image Award”, with a total of 50 awards. Considering that net users in different areas have diverse preferences of new vehicles, First Choice New Auto Award sets up in particular “First Choice New Auto Award in Five Cities”.

　　The selection of awards carries on the characteristics of integrity, openness, democracy and magnificent amount. Through a series of interactive activities, it’s greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of Internet users. According to reports, there are over 260 units of new automotive models to be shortlisted for the “First Choice New Auto Award”, which includes all the new listed vehicles in 2010. The 13 new car models awarded with First Choice New Auto Award are chosen from 450,000 valid votes of net users. Auto Model Satisfaction Award even receives 693,000 survey receipts, which presents eventually 25 winning auto models. The results of 2010 Sohu Auto Award are come from three parts, the vote from Internet users, expert reviews and statistic data of Sohu Auto’s car models database. Relying on a large number of participating people, comprehensive support of database and in-time feedback, holding the principle to respect the right of net users and automobile owners to speak, Sohu Auto Award has become the most authoritative and most influential automobile election, which is an annual traditional event in the automobile industry.

　　Basing on the original first choice new auto award, this election sets up First Choice New Auto Award in five cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shenzhen) for the first time, which fits the preferences and consumption habits in different areas. It is also the strategic movement for Sohu Auto business unit to start off regional strategies and to carry out localized services.

　　Reviewing the previous Sohu Auto Awards, many automobile brands were nominated and won the awards. After receiving the prize, they became most popular car models in the next year and achieved excellent sales records in a long period of time. As usual, 2010 Sohu Auto Award will witness the developments and progresses of China’s automotive industry.
